You do not have to be in the world’s top five largest economies to figure out how to be resourceful. What happens when you cannot get what you need to make one of your best-selling products in the middle of a pandemic? It might seem like a disaster initially, but actually, it is a good opportunity to rethink your product, your price point, the way you manufacture your product(s) and your retail outlets.

Portions of the CARES Act, including the enhancements to unemployment will be expiring at the end of July, but few parts of the country have returned to normal yet. Another stimulus program may be on the way, but since Congress is not returning to Washington until July 21, it’s hard to predict what that might look like. Changes to the enhanced unemployment payments, an additional round of stimulus payments to individuals, additional help for small businesses, and relief for student loan payments are all under discussion.

Don’t throw out that envelope that looks like a fake credit card – it might be your Economic Impact Payment. Since the week of May 18, the IRS has been sending some people prepaid debit cards instead of checks. This article in US News has answers to common questions about these cards. The IRS website has also added a section on these debit cards to its FAQs on Economic Impact Payments, including instructions on what to do if you lose or destroy your card.
